Skull:
The Skull is the bone of the head that protects the brain and gives the head shape. It is made up of three parts;
(i) The Cranium or Brainbox – This houses the brain.
(ii) Facial Skeleton – The bones that hold the nose, eyes, and cheek muscles.
(iii) Jaws – These are made up of the upper jaw known as the maxilla and lower jaw known as the mandible and they hold the teeth.
Vertebral Column:
Forms the backbone and is made up of many individual bones/vertebrae which are held one to the other by ligaments with comprehensible pads called inter-vertebrae discs.
