Beneficial Effects of Microorganisms:
1. Maintenance of soil fertility and recycling of nutrients in the ecosystem.
2. Sewage disposal: Saprophytic micro-organism decomposes sewage into harmless inorganic compounds, while the sludge is used as fertilizer.
3. Many antibiotics are produced from microbes. For example, Penicillin is produced from Penicillium.
