Below are Methods of Preserving Food;
1. Drying: Food such as maize, and cassava chips are dried in the sun or an oven.
This method reduces the water content of the food making it unsuitable for the growth of spoilage organisms

2. Salting: This involves the coating of food with salt (sodium chloride).
The salt raises the osmotic concentration of the food than the cytoplasm of micro-organismsMicrobes are organisms that are too small to be seen without using a microscope. They include organisms like bacteria, archaea, and single-cell eukaryotes (organisms whose cells have a nucleus e.g. amoeba... More that cause decay. The salt inhibits the growth of microorganisms or even kills them.
