Functions of Wholesalers to the Retailers

Wholesalers perform the following functions to the Retailers;

1. Finance: The wholesalers help the retailers by allowing credit to them. Opportunity is given to retailers to buy goods on credit.

2. Variety of Goods: Wide variety of goods are provided for the retailers to buy

3. Giving of Advise: The retailers are provided with technical information about the product and the market

4. Provides Goods in Small Quantity: They buy goods in bulk from the producers and sell to the retailers in smaller quantities.

5. Repacking and Grading: The wholesaler’s process, grade, or brand before they are finally handed over to the retailers.

6. Advertising and Publicity: The wholesalers carry out advertising and publicity functions to stimulate and increase the demand for the products.

7. Transport and Delivery: Proper arrangement is made by the wholesalers to transport goods to the retailers.
