This is a trader that buys goods in bulk from the producers and sells in small quantities to the retailers.

They break bulk by selling goods to retailers in small quantities. They are the link to the middleman between the producers/manufacturers and the final consumers.

A retailer is a person or business that sells goods to the public in relatively small quantities for use or consumption rather than for resale.

Characteristics of a Wholesaler

There are three main characteristics of a wholesaler. They are;

  1. Breaks the bulk
  2. Sells in small quantities to the retailers and
  3. Acts as middleman
