A share is the individual portion of the company’s capital owned by the shareholders. They are given a certificate called a share certificate.

A shareholder is a person that purchases shares in a limited liability company and is one of the owners of the company. They are called Shareholders.

Types of Shares:

1. Ordinary Shares:

(a) Deferred ordinary Shares.

(b) Preferred Ordinary Shares.

2. Preference Shares:

(a) Cumulative Preference Shares.

(b) Participating Preference Shares.

(c) Redeemable Preference Shares.

(d) Non-cumulative Preference Shares.
