Ways of Improving the System of Distribution of Consumer Goods in West Africa

(i) Reducing the number of middlemen.

(ii) Construction and rehabilitation of motorable roads especially in the rural areas.

(iii) Establishment of more marketplaces in the rural and urban areas.

(iv) Branding, grading, and packaging of goods.

(v) Provision of adequate storage facilities to prevent products from getting bad.

(vi) Improving the communication system to enable free flow of information among sellers and buyers regarding market situations.

(vii) Offering more credit facilities to consumers especially those in the low-income group.
