Fishing, like raising livestock, and keeping poultry, is one of the branches of agriculture. Fishing is the process of providing fish either for food or for sale. There are two aspects of fishing. First, there are fish farmers who build ponds and lakes and raise the fish they need for food or for sale. Second, there are professional fishermen who go to the rivers, lakes, and even oceans to hunt for fish.

The following are some words associated with fishing: fish farm, fish pond, net, bait, hook, shoal, trawler, fingerlings, fish tagging, pond stocking, feeds, rod, line, overhead cast, fishing knots, eye of a hook, attach a bait, lure in fish, set a drag, attract fish, fishing tricks, fisherman, fish hunting, tilapia, catfish, lungfish, icefish, herring, salmon.

Use your dictionary to look up the meaning of the above words and practice using them in sentences of your own.

Discuss the nature of fishing that is done in your area.
