We have studied the 24 consonant sounds in English. Among them are /k/ as in kind /kaind/ and /w/ as in wound /wu:nd/. In some English words, the two sounds occur together or in a sequence. This is especially so with words spelt with qu. For instance, the word quality /kwɒlәti/ has the two sounds occurring together. You must always bear in mind that /kw/ are pronounced as two different sounds and so you must not attempt to pronounce them as one sound.
