What is a Feature Article?

A feature article is a piece of formal writing which discusses an issue of general interest. The medium of a feature article is usually a magazine, newspaper, journal or periodical.

The feature article differs from other forms of formal writing in one important way. It has no salutation. This is understandable since the writer of a feature article has no specific audience in mind. The article could be read by just anybody who is interested in the issue discussed in the article.

Difference between a Features Article and a Letter to the Editor:

It is important to note that a feature article is not the same as a letter to the editor. Let us illustrate the difference between them with the following questions:
