Geography is divided into two main branches of study. They are;
- Physical Geography
- Human/Regional Geography
1. Physical Geography: Focuses on processes and patterns in the natural environment. It is concerned with the study of the physical landforms and natural environments of the Earth; rock types and natural resources (geology); soils (pedology); rivers, lakes and oceans (hydrology); weather and climate (meteorologyMeteorology is known as the science of weather. 2. Human Geography: Focuses on people and their communities, their different cultures, and their interactions within their environment.
Geographers identify and locate major physical and human geographic features, of various places and regions in the world.
