What is Nazism?
Nazism is a government or political ideology in which the state is supreme. The leader determines the will of the state and the state pursues racial superiority, imperialism, and territorial expansion.
Nazism is an acronym for ‘Nazi’, a National Socialist Party that existed in Germany: 1933-1945.
Features of Nazism:
(i) There is the existence of a government headed by a supreme dictator.
(ii) The head of government controls all aspects of the lives of the people.
(iii) There is an existence of only one political party.
(iv) The economy is centrally controlled by the government.
(v) The state manipulates information that gets to the people through propaganda.
(vi) The press is censored and the state makes use of secret police.
(vii) The state tries territorial expansion and annexation of other territories.
(viii) The government believed they (Germans) were superior to other people.
(ix) The will of the state under Nazism is often achieved through the use of force, oppression, secret police, spying, etc.
