- Types of Political Culture
Three basic types of political culture are:
(i) Parochial Culture: In this type, the people have a low awareness of political events, actors, procedures, and politics in the state. There may also be low political participation and low government expectations of people’s involvement in political activities.
(ii) Subject Political Culture: In this type of political culture, the people are aware of government political actors, events, procedures, and politics. Even with high government expectations of people’s political participation, nevertheless, the people do not take an active part in public decision-making. It is still characterized by low political participation.
(iii) Participant Political Culture: In this type, people’s political awareness is high, government expectation is high and people’s political participation is also high.
