Acceleration due to gravity is the acceleration of an object caused by the force of gravitation;

Neglecting air resistance, all small bodies accelerate in a gravitational field at the same rate in relation to the centre of mass. At the surface of the earth, acceleration due to gravity is about 9.8 ms-2 or (m/s2).
