Topic Content:

  • States of Matter

All matter is particulate in nature, which means that between separate bits of matter, there are spaces which contain no matter.

Matter is anything that has weight and occupies space. The particles that makeup matter are atoms, ions, or molecules.

States of Matter:

There are the known five phases or states of matter namely;

  • Solids
  • Liquids
  • Gases
  • Bose-Einstein Condensate
  • Plasma

The main difference in the structures of each state is in the densities of the particles.
