  • Respiratory System of Man

The respiratory systems of mammals consist of the following parts: nose or nostrils, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, ribs, lungs and diaphragm. Let’s discuss the parts we just mentioned.

1. Nose:

The nose consists of two air passages called the nostrils. The lining of the nostrils secretes mucus which keeps them moist and entraps harmful particles. Also present in the nostrils are hairs that help to filter air entering the nose.
