What is Pollination?

Pollination is the transfer of mature pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of flowers.

An agent is needed to bring it to pass. Insects, animals and winds are common pollinators, though some flowers with long corolla tubes are self-pollinated.

Types of Pollination:

There are two types of pollination:

  1. Self-pollination
  2. Cross-pollination

Self-pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anthers to the stigma of one flower or to another flower of the same plant.
