1. (a) Describe briefly, the standard hydrogen electrode.

(b) State two conditions under which the standard electrode potential is determined.

2. A magnesium rod dipped into a magnesium salt solution was connected through a voltameter to a tin rod dipped into a tin solution. A salt bridge was connected between them. The standard electrode potentials of magnesium and tin are -2.31 V and + 0.14 V respectively.

a. Write down the cell representation.

b. Determine the E.M.F or the
