- Characteristics of a System Existing in Chemical Equilibrium
A reversible reaction is in dynamic equilibrium when both the forward and backward reactions are occurring at the same rate, thereby producing no net change in the concentration of the reactants or products.
Dynamic equilibrium Is also when a number of reactants, combining to form the product, will be balanced by the number of products breaking up to form reactants. Reversible reactions can occur in closed and open systems.
