Spontaneous Reaction is a reaction or process which has the potential to proceed without the assistance of an external agent [heat, pressure, catalyst].
It has nothing to do with the rate at which the reaction will proceed or the time taken to reach completion.
Example;
i. A ball released from above the ground
ii. A wheel released from the top of an incline [when released, it rolls down]
