Advantages of Written Communication

1. It provides permanent records

2. It removes the necessity of personal contact

3. The receiver can read the message as often as he wants

4. It is more reliable than oral communication

Disadvantages of Written Communication

1. It takes time to prepare

2. It can be expensive to produce written messages

3. It creates maintenance problems in terms of space as bulky files and piles of paper are used

4. Sender is not sure whether his message has been received or not
