Communication means the process of sending and receiving information. In every organization, communication can be inter or intra and it plays a crucial role. It may be written or oral 

Inter-Department Communication: This involves between different departments of an organization 

Intra-Departmental Communication: This also means communication within a department of an organization. It is through information that the objectives of an organization is achieved. There must be effective communication in both inter and intra to enable workers to carry out their duties efficiently.

Importance of Inter and Intra Departmental Communication 

1. Communication provides means of sending and receiving information at faster rates in an organization

2. It bridges the communication gap between the management and the workers 

3. Superior officers can easily monitor the activities of their subordinate through the help of inter and intra departmental communication 

4. Written communication provides permanent records for reference purposes

5. It makes it easy and quick to get in touch with departmental communication 

6. Inter and intra communication link together the chain of command of all the departments and lead to the unity of objectives.
