Responsibility is an obligation for an officer to carry out his/her duties and also use authority to see that his/her subordinates perform the duties expected. Responsibility is also the obligation a subordinate owes to his superior to perform his duties. Acceptance of authority is an indication of acceptance of responsibility and accountability.

Responsibility makes every individual answerable for his actions. Unlike authority, responsibility cannot be delegated
