Features of Coasts:
Coasts refer to the landmass around seas or oceans. They are under the constant influence of the action of waves. Some, that are attacked by waves, experience erosion and retreat, while some that experience wave deposition advance.
Coasts do not all look the same. Some are steep , while others have a gentle gradient . Some are high and others low , and they may be rough or smooth depending on the forces acting upon them.
The appearance and nature of a coast are determined by several factors, but the main ones are:
- Nature of the rocks – Hard rocks resist erosion and form steep, rugged
