Definition: “Decimal places” means the number of places after the decimal point. For example, the number 24.3157 is given to 4 decimal places.

Example 6.2.1:

Round off 675.6584 to the nearest:

i. whole number
ii. 1 d.p
iii. 2 d.p
iv. 3 d.p

Solution: 

i. 675.6584 = 676 to the nearest whole number
