Topic Content:
- Simple Probable on Equiprobable Sample Space
This is the likelihood of an individual event occurring in a sample space where all results are equally probable.
It is calculated using the formula:
P(E) = \( \frac{No\:of \: favourable\:outcomes}{Total \:number\:of\:outcomes} \)
Example 6.5.1:
A bag contains 5 red, 6 blue and 7 green balls. If one ball is drawn out at random, what is the probability of getting a green ball?
Solution
Total balls: 5 + 6 + 7 = 18
Pr(of picking green ball) = \( \frac{7}{8} \)
Example 6.5.2:
A
