- Principle of Floatation
When a cork is pushed inside water, the cork is seen to bob up and float on top of water when it is released due to the upthrust of the water on the cork.
The floatation principle states that when a body is wholly or totally immersed in a fluid, it experiences an upthrust which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced.
