  • Melting and Freezing Point of a Substance

The melting point of a substance is the temperature at which a substance changes from solid to liquid state or liquid to solid.

Ice melts at 0°C and as more heat is supplied, as it changes from solid to liquid, it is not reflected on the thermometer. This heat is called Latent heat of fusion.
