- Boiling Water below 100ºC
Pure water boils at a temperature below 100ºC when the saturated vapour pressure (S.V.P) is less than normal atmospheric pressure. To achieve this, a round bottom flask is three-quarters filled with water.
A thermometer is inserted through the stopper and the flask is heated to about 80ºC.
