  • Harvesting Honey from a Honey Bee Farm

Harvesting honey properly is an art. Bees require the honey to live. So removing too much will ruin their small ecosystem. Harvesting honey when it is not ready is also dangerous “Green or un capped” honey has a high moisture content which breeds yeast, making it unsafe for human consumption.

Steps in Harvesting:

  • Put on your protective bee suit
  • Approach the bee hive from behind, puffing smoke into the hive entrance.
