Meaning of Aquaculture:
Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organisms in fresh, brackish or saltwater. It can also be regarded as the propagation and husbandrythe care, cultivation, breeding and production of crops and animals. More of aquatic animals and plants for commercial, recreational and scientific purposes.
A wide variety of organisms are produced through aquaculture, including fish crustaceans, molluscs, algae and aquatic weeds.
Unlike capture fisheriesCapture fishery involves catching fish directly from water bodies i.e. lakes, seas, ponds, etc. It involves the natural development of fishes i.e. No need for growing or taking care of fish.... More, aquaculture requires deliberate human intervention in the organisms’ productivity and results in yields that exceed those from the natural environment alone.
