  • Methods of crop improvement
    • proper timing of planting;
    • adoption of better cultivation methods; etc.

The various methods adopted to improve crops and their productivity include good management practices like:

1. Proper Timing of Planting: Different crops respond differently to planting dates, and weather can play a major role in planting dates and yields. Planting at the right time to avoid factors like inadequate rainfall, high temperature and abundance of pests and diseases can result in increased yields.

2. Crop Improvement Methods like introduction, selection and hybridisation can improve crops.

3. Adoption of Better Cultivation Methods: Adoption of better cultivation methods like mixed cropping improves crop productivity, minimises pests and diseases and can contribute to greater yields with improved quality.
