- Development of Seed (Changes that Accompany Development of Seed in the Ovule)
Fruit and seeds are the products of pollination and fertilization. The seed develops from the ovule after fertilization.
- A seed consists of the embryo and one or two cotyledons, some contain endosperm or food reserve from the nourishment of the embryo.

- The embryo is made up of the radicle (future root system) and plumule (future shoot system).

The seed is a potential plant waiting for favourable conditions to germinate.
Flowering plants are of two types based on the number of cotyledons. Monocotyledons (one cotyledon)
