A fruit is a structure that develops from the ovary after fertilization. At times the fruit may be so small that it can be mistaken for seeds. No matter its size it contains one or more seeds.
In some plants, e.g. bananas, grapes and pineapple, fruits are formed without fertilisation. Such fruits are called parthenocarpic furits and they are seedless.
