This Consumer Education and Protection Council of Nigeria was established to protect the interest of the consumers. It specified the right to protect the interest of the consumer. The rights are; rights to safety, right to choose and right to be informed, etc.

Objectives of the Consumer Education and Protection Council of Nigeria

i. To protect the interest of the consumers.

ii. To ensure that manufacturers produce goods of high quality.

iii. To educate the consumers about their rights.

iv. To work hand in hand with other agents in order to ensure effective price control.
