African Development Bank (ADB) was established in 1964 and has its headquarters in Abidjan the capital of Cote d’Ivoire. The bank is owned by independent African countries which are African Union. In 1982 a decision to open up participation to non African state was established.

Aims and Objectives of the African Development Bank (ADB)

1. The African country’s resources that are at their disposal are used to finance projects and programmes that will boost the nations

2. To foster economic integration among African countries

4. Provision of fund for the development of power supply and agriculture of member states

5. To promote investment opportunity in Africa

6. To provide technical assistance for development project 

7. To ensure regional unity and trade among members nations

8. To promote multinational investment among Africa Countries
