Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) was established in 1958 with its headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as an organ of the United Nation for the development of Africa. Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is positioned to foster intraregional integration for Africa’s development.

Aims and Objectives of ECA

1. To promote the social and economic growth of Africa as a whole

2. To accelerate economic growth and integration in Africa

3. To embark on manpower training and development for African continents

4. To conduct research in the area of production and technology to aid Africa in economic development

5. To promote regional economic cooperation

6. To promote good governance, growth and sustainable development goals
