The National Party of Nigeria (NPN) was the dominant political party in Nigeria during the Second Republic (1979–1983). It was formed in 1978. It can be described as a reincarnation of the defunct NPC as many of the members were part of NPC.
Although the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) attracted members from all over the country, the majority of its supporters came from the North. The motto was “One Nation under one God, with One Destiny”.
