All Nigeria Peoples Party was known formerly as All People’s Party. It was formed in 1998 after the ban on political activities was lifted. The name was changed in 2003. The majority of the party supporters and members were from the extreme North.
The party merged with the other three political parties to form “All Progressive Congress” (Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)).
