Social Democratic Party (SDP) was created alongside the National Republican Convention, in 1989, by the government of General Ibrahim Babangida, after the ban on political activities was lifted.
Aims and Objectives of SDP:
- To promote a self-reliant economy that will develop on the harnessing of the nation's resources and by the effort of the people.
