Performance Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, you should be able to:

  • Convert  a galvanometer to ammeter (shunt) and voltmeter (multiplier)
  • Solve simple problems on multipliers and shunts
  • Use potentiometer, Wheatstone bridge and Metre Bridge to compare e.m.f resistances.
  • Explain the basic principles of the potentiometer circuit
  • State and demonstrate the condition for a balanced Wheatstone bridge circuit and deduce the condition for a balanced metre bridge
