- Health Hazards of Radiation & Safety Precautions
Health Hazards of Radiation:
1. Overexposure to radiation can cause skin disease or destroy organs in the body.
2. It can cause damage to human genes (genetic mutation).
3. It can lead to leukaemia (Cancer of the blood).
Safety Precautions:
1. A thick lead concrete block should be used to shield workers in the industry.Â
2. The dose of radiation absorbed by patients should be controlled.

3. Radiological workers should wear film badges which are sensitive to radiation. They help workers identify areas where exposure levels are higher than expected. Â
