  1. Iron is more easily magnetized than steel and also loses its magnetism more easily than steel.
  2. When subjected to the same magnetic force, iron produces a stronger magnet than steel.
  3. Steels are used for permanent magnets while irons are used as temporary magnets and they form the core of electromagnets
