JAMB Introduces Home-Based O’Level Result Upload: How to Upload Your WAEC Result Without Visiting a CBT Centre

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home without visiting an accredited CBT centre.

The new service is being introduced beginning with West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results and is designed to make the O’Level result upload process easier, faster and more convenient for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ results electronically with the examination body before the results are added to their JAMB profiles.

Here is what candidates need to know and how the new process works.

What Has Changed?

Previously, candidates commonly had to visit JAMB-accredited CBT centres to upload O’Level results for admission processing.

Under the new system, candidates can complete the verification and upload process remotely, reducing the need to visit a CBT centre simply to submit their results.

JAMB says the new arrangement will also help address problems associated with manual uploads, including:

  • Errors when entering subjects and grades
  • Misplaced or mixed-up result documents
  • Submission of unverified or fraudulent results
  • Long queues and heavy demand at CBT centres

The system allows JAMB to verify a candidate’s result against records held by the examination body before it is uploaded to the candidate’s profile.

Which O’Level Results Can Be Uploaded From Home?

JAMB says the service is starting with WAEC results.

Candidates using other examination bodies should therefore not assume that the same home-based process is already available for their results.

JAMB says the verification system is intended to work with examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, but the initial rollout begins with WAEC.

How to Verify Your WAEC Result for JAMB From Home

The process begins with obtaining a Result Verification Code.

Candidates are required to use the designated result verification service and provide the necessary information.

Step 1: Provide Your NIN

Enter your National Identification Number (NIN) as required.

Make sure the information you provide corresponds with the details associated with your JAMB profile.

Step 2: Select Your Number of O’Level Sittings

Indicate whether you are using one or two O’Level sittings for admission.

This is important because the procedure differs slightly for candidates combining results from two sittings.

Step 3: Select the Examination Body

Select the relevant examination body.

For the initial rollout of the new service, WAEC results are supported.

Step 4: Provide Your Contact Details

Enter your required contact information, including your:

  • Email address
  • GSM/phone number

Candidates should ensure that their details are entered correctly.

Step 5: Make the Required Payment

Complete the required payment through the payment gateway provided as part of the verification process.

Candidates should use the designated JAMB verification process and avoid making payments to individuals claiming they can upload results on their behalf.

Step 6: Enter Your WAEC Examination Details

After payment, provide your examination information, including:

  • Examination number
  • Examination series
  • Examination year

Check the information carefully before submitting it.

Step 7: Obtain Your Verification Code

Once your result has been successfully verified, a Verification Code will be issued.

Keep this code safe because it is required for the next stage of the process.

How to Submit Your Verification Code to JAMB

After receiving the Verification Code, send:

VERIFY followed by your Verification Code

to either:

55019 or 66019

using the appropriate phone line associated with your JAMB processes.

JAMB says the verified result will subsequently be uploaded and the candidate will receive a notification confirming the submission.

What If You Are Using Two O’Level Sittings?

Candidates using two O’Level sittings have an additional step.

Log in to your JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select:

2026 UTME O’Level Upload

Enter your Verification Code.

Your two verified results should then be displayed.

You can select the subjects required for admission from the verified results.

JAMB says candidates must select:

  • A minimum of five subjects
  • A maximum of nine subjects
  • No subject more than once

After selecting the appropriate subjects, click Apply the O’Level Results.

You should receive a notification after the upload has been completed successfully.

Do Candidates Still Need to Visit a CBT Centre?

The new system provides candidates with an alternative to visiting a CBT centre for routine O’Level result verification and upload.

This can be particularly useful when CBT centres are experiencing long queues, heavy demand or network difficulties.

However, candidates who experience difficulties with their JAMB profile or other services requiring physical assistance should use official JAMB support channels or an accredited centre rather than relying on unofficial agents.

Why Is Uploading Your O’Level Result to JAMB Important?

Uploading your O’Level result is an important part of the admission process.

Candidates who registered for UTME while awaiting their WAEC or other O’Level results need to ensure that their results are properly uploaded once they become available.

JAMB states that candidates whose O’Level results have not been uploaded will not be considered for admission recommendations through its admission process.

This means that successfully sitting UTME and meeting an institution’s admission requirements may not be enough if the required O’Level result has not been properly submitted to JAMB.

What If You Registered With Awaiting Result?

If you registered for the 2026 UTME using Awaiting Result (AR) and your WAEC result is now available, you should ensure that the result is uploaded to your JAMB profile.

The new home-based verification system means eligible candidates using WAEC results can now complete this process without making an unnecessary trip to a CBT centre.

Candidates should confirm that the process has been completed successfully rather than assuming their result was automatically added after WAEC released it.

Be Careful With Unofficial JAMB Upload Services

Candidates should be cautious about giving their JAMB login details, NIN, examination information or other personal credentials to strangers.

Use JAMB’s official platforms and designated services when completing the verification process.

Also check all examination information carefully before submission.

Quick Summary

JAMB’s new O’Level upload system means:

  • Candidates can now verify and upload O’Level results from home.
  • The service is starting with WAEC results.
  • JAMB verifies the result electronically with the examination body.
  • Candidates first obtain a Result Verification Code.
  • Required information includes the candidate’s NIN, examination details and contact information.
  • A required processing payment is made through the designated payment gateway.
  • After verification, candidates send VERIFY followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
  • Candidates using two sittings have additional steps through JAMB e-Facility.
  • Two-sitting candidates select between five and nine subjects, without selecting the same subject more than once.
  • Candidates no longer need to visit a CBT centre simply to complete the routine WAEC result verification/upload process.

The new system should make an important part of the admission process more convenient for candidates, particularly those who previously had to travel to or queue at CBT centres to upload their results.

Candidates should nevertheless follow JAMB’s official instructions carefully and confirm that their O’Level results have been successfully submitted.
