JAMB O’Level Result Upload: Candidates Do Not Need to Re-upload Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload them or obtain a new verification code following the introduction of its new result verification process.

The clarification follows concerns from candidates who had already uploaded their WAEC or other O’Level results before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.

In a statement issued by the Acting Director, Public Affairs, Fabian Benjamin, all O’Level results previously uploaded through its platform remain valid and will continue to be recognised during the admission process.

Who Does Not Need to Re-upload O’Level Results?

JAMB’s clarification applies to candidates who had already uploaded their O’Level results before the new verification system was introduced.

This includes candidates who uploaded their results during the current admission exercise following the release of their results, as well as candidates whose results had been uploaded under the previous system.

JAMB said these candidates do not need to upload their results again simply because of the new verification process.

They also do not need to obtain a new verification code for results that have already been successfully uploaded.

Why Did JAMB Introduce the New Verification Process?

JAMB explained that the new arrangement is intended to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results used during the admission process.

The system is designed to help prevent falsified results from being presented or accepted for admission.

However, JAMB stressed that introducing the new system does not invalidate results that candidates had already uploaded under the previous process.

Previously uploaded results will remain available on JAMB’s platform and can be subjected to the required verification by tertiary institutions during admission.

Candidates Advised Not to Panic

JAMB has urged candidates not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads because their results were submitted before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.

The Board stated that:

“Candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again.”

This means candidates who have already completed the process should not assume that the introduction of the verification code has made their earlier upload invalid.

What Should Candidates Do?

If you have already successfully uploaded your O’Level result to JAMB, you do not need to upload it again solely because of the new verification system.

Your previously uploaded result remains valid and can still be considered during the admission process, subject to the appropriate verification by your chosen institution.

Candidates should, however, continue to follow official JAMB announcements and ensure that their admission requirements have been properly completed.

What This Means for 2026 Admission Candidates

The clarification should provide reassurance to candidates who were concerned that the new verification process might require everyone to start the O’Level upload process again.

The key point is:

Already uploaded your O’Level result? JAMB says you do not need to re-upload it or obtain another verification code simply because the new verification process has been introduced.
