The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cautioned all candidates against misusing their National Identification Numbers (NINs) as the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry registration kicks off.
The warning came from Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, during a meeting with the Board’s management in preparation for the form sale and registration exercise.
“Multiple/double registrations coupled with the use of multiple National Identification Numbers (NINs) by a single candidate for the purpose of double registration, impersonation, or any form of identity manipulation is strictly prohibited and will be severely sanctioned,” said Prof. Oloyede.
He also added that candidates must avoid:
- Impersonation or image blending
- Group registration
- Donating fingerprints to speed up biometric capture
- Any other irregularities that undermine the integrity of the examination
“Ensure that only your own ten fingers are captured individually and correctly at the CBT centre,” he emphasized.
Prof. Oloyede also reiterated JAMB’s cashless registration system, designed to prevent exploitation of candidates, and highlighted that all bank administrators and tellers involved in e-PIN vending must register their NINs with JAMB to maintain accountability.
Registration Timelines & Fees:
- UTME Registration: January 26 – February 28, 2026 (at approved CBT centres)
- Mock Selection Close: February 16, 2026
- Direct Entry Registration: March 2 – April 25, 2026 (only at JAMB offices)
Application Fees:
- Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700
- UTME without Mock: ₦7,200
- UTME with Mock: ₦8,700
“UTME candidates would register first before Direct Entry candidates, while the sale of application documents, including profile creation, will start on 19th January and end on 26th February, 2026,” explained Prof. Oloyede.
