Pollution is the release of toxic or harmful substances into the environment to an extent that it causes damage to man and his resources

When harmful substances are released into the environment such as water, air or land to the level when they become toxic to man, animals and plants, the environment is described as polluted.

Types of Pollution:

There are four main types of pollution, They include

  1. Air pollution
  2. Water pollution
  3. Land pollution
  4. Noise pollution

The harmful substances that cause pollution are known as pollutants.
