  • The Female Reproductive System of a Mammal

The female reproductive system consists of ovaries, oviducts, uterus, vagina and vulva.

There are two ova-shaped ovaries situated below each kidney. The ovary produces the female gamete called the ovum/egg, female sex hormones called oestrogen and progesterone which make the wall of the uterus thicken and become suitable for fertilized ovum.
