This is a promise to the nation recited immediately after singing the National Anthem. It is a citizen’s promise to serve with all their strength and be faithful, loyal, and honest.

It became operational after the Nigeria Civil War (1967-1970).

Nigeria National Pledge was composed by Prof. (Mrs) Felicia Adebola Adedoyin in 1976.
