Vote of Thanks:
A vote of thanks is a form of speech that is given at the end of such school activities as PTA Meeting, Annual School Sports Day, Welcoming and Sending-off of students and staff, commissioning of school facilities, etc.
Features of Vote of Thanks:
- It uses the first-person singular pronoun (1)
If you are giving the speech in your own right, or the first person plural pronoun (we) for a speech given on behalf of others.
- It uses emotive language, that is, words that express feelings, and idiomatic expressions.
- It could use light-hearted expressions like jokes and anecdotes to enliven the listeners.
- It is usually proposed by the person hosting the event or his representative.
